NORTH LAKES WORKSTORES

Location: Oxley St North Lakes, Brisbane

This scheme of 14 workstores in North Lakes follows a simple planning diagram, building two linear forms either side of a central vehicular corridor. The result is an efficient and egalitarian arrangement of 80m2 workstores, each with a 40m2 mezzanine. The rhythmic plan is accentuated by angular undulations in the façade, avoiding a flat, singular building face. The undulations are exaggerated by the roof form, which casts a toothed profile against the sky. The angular motif is further developed as a façade treatment to the rear faces of the development.
